Palms for the Gulf Coast

Palms ... their majestic forms are unrivaled by any other plants on Earth. Their bold architectures are widely utilized throughout the world to add an intriguing dimension to landscapes. Visions and senses of paradise dance through the head upon seeing palms; they bring into the surroundings the ambiance of the Low Country. It's no wonder humankind has always had a love affair with them. Since time immemorial, palms have been used as symbols of prosperity, victory, luxury, wealth, comfort, tranquility and all other things in paradise.

This site is currently under construction as of 04-26-2005. I will detail on here all the palms suited for the Gulf Coast, specifically the northern Gulf Coast, which is roughly the area from New Orleans, LA to Fort Walton Beach, FL, which includes the major Gulf Coast cities of Gulfport & Biloxi, MS; Mobile, AL; and Pensacola, FL. Check back often and please email me with suggestions for this website. Also, if you wish, feel free to email me a picture of your prized palm for posting on this website. The palm must be an unprotected, outdoor specimen growing in the aforementioned region, unless it is truly exotic such as the very improbable 15-feet-tall coconut palm(!).
